Troubleshooting

The save button isn't showing up on PubMed

Make sure you're on a page under pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov and that the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions. If it just installed, try refreshing the PubMed tab — content scripts only attach to tabs opened after install.

My sign-in code isn't arriving

Check spam/junk first — this is the most common cause. If it's still missing after a few minutes, try requesting a new code; each code expires after a short window. If it keeps failing, email us the address you're signing in with and we'll investigate.

I signed in on a new computer and lost Pro on my old one

This is expected — a Pro license covers one computer at a time, and signing in elsewhere moves it there. Sign back in on the original computer to move it back; you get up to 10 moves per year.

I want to move my library to a new computer

Use Settings → Export in the popup to download a JSON backup, then Import it on the new computer after installing the extension there. Your library never syncs automatically between computers by design — everything stays local to each browser.

Alerts aren't finding new papers

Alerts re-run each saved search roughly every 12 hours, not instantly. A newly created alert is seeded with the last 90 days of results so it won't dump a backlog on you — genuinely new papers should appear on the next check after they're indexed by PubMed.

I found a bug

Email us what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead — screenshots help. We fix reproducible bugs quickly.
